What is a VI Peel?
A VI Peel® is a medical-grade chemical peel designed to improve skin tone, texture, pigmentation, acne, and signs of aging with a predictable peeling process and minimal downtime. Unlike many superficial peels that simply exfoliate the surface, the VI Peel penetrates into the epidermis to stimulate cellular turnover and collagen production while remaining safe for a wide range of skin types.

One of the reasons it's so popular is that it's effective yet relatively comfortable, making it a great option for patients who want noticeable results without the downtime associated with more aggressive laser treatments.

What VI Peel treats?
Sun damage
Hyperpigmentation
Melasma (in appropriate patients)
Acne and acne scars
Fine lines and wrinkles
Uneven skin tone
Enlarged pores
Rough texture
Dull skin

What to Expect When You Come In...
Consultation
We'll determine which peel is appropriate based on your skin type, concerns, and desired downtime.
Treatment
The treatment takes about 30 minutes.

The peel solution is applied in layers and remains on the skin for several hours. You'll leave the office with the solution on your skin and wash it off later that day according to your provider's instructions.

Patients typically feel:
Mild tingling
Warmth
Tightness
The treatment is generally well tolerated.
Recovery and Results
Peeling usually begins around Day 2 or 3 and lasts 3–5 days.

During this time you may notice:
Tightness
Dryness
Visible peeling, especially around the mouth and cheeks
Mild redness
It's important not to pick or pull peeling skin, as this can increase the risk of irritation or pigmentation changes.

When Will I See Results?
Many patients notice brighter, smoother skin within about one week.
Collagen remodeling and improvements in pigmentation continue over the following weeks.

For concerns such as acne, melasma, or significant sun damage, a series of 3–6 treatments spaced about four weeks apart often provides the best results.

Common Questions
we get at consultations
Does a VI Peel hurt?
Most patients experience a mild tingling or warming sensation during application. The treatment is generally very well tolerated.

When will my skin start peeling?
Peeling usually begins 2–3 days after treatment and lasts about 3–5 days.

What if I don't peel?
Not everyone peels the same. Even if peeling is minimal, your skin is still renewing beneath the surface.

How many VI Peels will I need?
Many patients see improvement after one treatment, but a series of 3–6 peels is often recommended for concerns like acne, pigmentation, or melasma.

Can I wear makeup after a VI Peel?
Once you've washed the peel off as directed, you can typically wear makeup if your skin feels comfortable. We recommend letting your skin breathe during the peeling process whenever possible.

What should I avoid after a VI Peel?
Avoid picking at peeling skin, excessive sun exposure, strenuous exercise, hot tubs, saunas, and active skincare ingredients until your skin has healed.
Can a VI Peel help acne and acne scars?
Yes! VI Peels can improve active acne, post-acne discoloration, and mild acne scarring. Deeper scars may benefit from combining VI Peels with microneedling.

Is a VI Peel safe for all skin types?
VI Peels are safe for many skin tones when performed by a trained provider. During your consultation, we'll determine if it's the right treatment for your skin.

Can I get a VI Peel in the summer?
Yes, as long as you're diligent about wearing sunscreen and protecting your skin from sun exposure during the healing process.
