Botox is widely used for both cosmetic and medical purposes. Cosmetically, it is most commonly used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Most popularly, on the forehead, around the eyes (crow’s feet), and between the eyebrows. It works by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause these wrinkles, leading to smoother skin. But did you know Botox can be used to treat various conditions, such as chronic migraines, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), overactive bladder, and muscle spasms, including those associated with cerebral palsy or other neurological disorders. It can also help manage conditions like strabismus (crossed eyes) and bruxism (teeth grinding).
Our favorite, less traditional ways to use Botox include the Masseter muscles to help relieve TMJ symptoms and in the “Trap” muscles to help relieve tension in the neck and tension headaches.
There truly are so many benefits Botox can bring to your life!
